Summer Music & Movies Series

Go "Back to the Future" with the Midvale Arts Council’s summer music & movies in the park series. Each night will feature one of the Back to the Future movies along with a singing competition tied to the era portrayed in the movie featured that night. The singing competition will feature music from the 50's, the 80's and Country Western genres.

Here’s how it will work. Each night a winner will be crowned as our "Back to the Future Music King/Queen," with gift card prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place ($100, $50, and $25). After we crown our royalty we will watch a movie in the park. The movie is free of charge. Entrance to the singing competition is also free and you can purchase a ballot ($1) to vote for your favorite singer.

If you want to compete in the singing competition there is an entry fee - $5 for Midvale residents and $10 for non-Midvale residents. We will also need your name and contact info, what song you are planning on singing (you will need to provide your own music in the form of a karaoke CD or a minus track on a CD), and which night you would like to perform. Contestants for each night will be limited to the first 15 who sign up so don’t wait to sign up! Applications are being accepted now.

Saturday, July 31 - Back to the Future II - Back to the 80's karaoke
Friday, August 20 - Back to the Future III - Back to the Country-Western karaoke
